New seating risers and premium Club seating enhance game day for fans
Certifications:
During the 2015 off-season, the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena at Texas Christian University (TCU) underwent a major renovation - the first in almost 50 years. Working alongside architect HKS and general contractor Austin Commercial, Sightline Commercial Solutions engineered all-new seating risers for the lower bowl platforms at both ends of the court to create new “Courtside Club” VIP areas reserved exclusively for school donors and courtside ticket holders. The premium seating sections are comprised of SC90® platforms and SC9600 bridging supports and engineered to fit seamlessly in the lower bowl radius to give the area a permanent look and feel, but with the option of being dismantled and moved into storage for optimal versatility. Unlike traditional modular platforms, these sections utilize fixed seating bolted through the platforms, eliminating the need for seats to be secured from beneath the platform. This makes for easy set-up and tear down of the system as TCU staff utilizes the venue for a wide variety of events. Additionally, Sightline Commercial Solutions supplied custom guardrail with acrylic infill that improves sightlines for Horned Frog fans, while seamlessly integrating with the arena’s existing railing. In total, Sightline Commercial Solutions provided more than 200 platforms, 50 guardrails and nearly 70 stair units to help update and upgrade the historic arena into a world-class venue.
