Home to the North Carolina Symphony, Meymandi Concert Hall at Duke Energy Center in Raleigh also hosts nationally and internationally renowned artists and performers – so sound quality is crucial. To optimize sound quality and create an appealing environment for audiences, Sightline Commercial Solutions was engaged to create four permanent acoustical shell ceilings for the venue. Complete customization was required – from the perimeter steel trusses to the curved wood panels that attach to the support structure. Additionally, the ceiling panels were designed with integral lights to create ambient lighting and a more pleasing overall atmosphere within the theater. Most importantly, the carefully designed acoustical shell now properly projects sound into the audience for a consummate listening experience.
